Feed 333 - Feed The Children

It's the weekend. You've survived another week, yay you! Rather then meandering into my usual thoughts on life and work I want to take a moment to share a campaign with you. The movement has been named Feed 333 and the video below describes the purpose and the power of what these wonderful women are doing for the worlds children.

This project started because of one person, the founder of the project, viewing 'The Secret'. And because of her intention, her passion and her love the universe is responding. Please take a moment to view the movie and see just what kind of vision can be shared by people like, Spryte Loriano.

Would You Like To Help me Feed 3 Million American
Children In 33 Days......For Just One Dollar?

Where does the money go?

We are partnering with The Children's Hunger Fund (Named the #1 Charity in America by Forbes Magazine, and the ONLY U.S. Charity to hold a 100% rating in all three of their rating categories. More than 99% of all revenue goes to programs serving children in need.)

We are also working cooperatively with The Houston Food Bank (tied for #2 Most Effective Charity in the US by Forbes Magazine), and Feed The Children (one of the largest US children's charities and rated in the top 20 of Forbes Magazine). FEED333 is a project of The World Trust Foundation, 501(c)(3).

It's the dream of a woman named Spryte Loriano.
She watched a movie you may also have seen ~ The
Secret ~ and was inspired to create something that would
make a massive difference in the world, and turn the
impossible, possible: Feed 3 million children in 33 days.
The program is simple, and it offers great rewards. Those
who donate only $1 will have access to many great movies,
e-Books, posters and more--for free. In addition, you'll
have the opportunity to watch your offering grow right
before your eyes as you spread the word! I could go on and
on, but Spryte's inspiring flash movie explains it all. Go
see it at:

Most of you receiving this from me are networkers. It's hard to reap what you haven't sown!

Do You Have The Heart To Build Others Up To Be Greater Than You Are?

One of the things that I've always found to be a fulfilling experience is to help other people help themselves. It doesn't matter what they are doing or discovering but helping them to become a better person and live their best life is a passion of mine. Which is why Steve Farber's recent post regarding Extreme Leadership struck my fancy.

So what do we need to do?

Seek to raise others’
• Capability
• Competence
• Influence
• Vision
• Enthusiasm
• Passion

Check out the rest of his post for further ideas on the subject. Lifting people up and enabling them takes a great deal of strength and confidence but the rewards are so profound.

If this is something that you desire to be and do, my first suggestion would be to look at your own life. Find the people in your life that did these very things and say THANK YOU!

Being aware of what others have done in your own life arms you with the understanding, compassion, and confidence to pay it forward.

One person at a time; helping them to live their best lives!

Live Your Best Life mentioned in the Fred Factor Ezine

Yesterday morning I was greeted by an email from Phil Gerbyshak that set a Great tone for my day. Within that email was the July issue of the Fred Factor Ezine with an note from Phil attached. I could almost feel his excitement as he expressed that Live Your Best Life had been mentioned in the Ezine. To my delight as I scrolled down the page I found the Ezine linking to Passion for Significance an article discussing The Fred Factor, my desire to be a Fred, and told the story of a Fred that had impacted my life.

The book delivers an incredible system that can change your life. Read my article, if you haven't already and then buy the book. I highly recommend it.

Thank you to Mark Sanborn, and the folks at the Fred Factor Ezine for linking to my article. I'm very flattered and grateful to you all!

Its times like this that remind me why I'm blogging and how much fun it can be.

Live Well and Love Often!

Passion for Significance

One thing seems common to all human beings: a passion for significance.  I've never met anyone who wanted to be insignificant.  Everyone wants to count, to know that what he or she does each day isn't simply a means of making a living, but "a living of making meaning".    -Mark Sanborn, The Fred Factor

The key part to take note of in the above quote is a living of making meaning.  Regardless of who are what you are its important to realize that the way that you conduct yourself in business and in life in general isn't about you. Its about people that you interact with and what you do to improve their lives.  This is what being a 'Fred' is all about.  The Fred Factor is about not just doing your job or living your life the way its expected of you.  Its about making it your own.

Mark starts out talking about the first Fred, his US Postal Service mail carrier.  A man named Fred who took every chance he had to make sure that Mark recieved his mail but also that Mark and his home remained safe. To do this Fred would put Mark's mail between the door and screen door of the house while Mark was out of town and hold whatever didn't fit until he returned so that it wouldn't appear as if no one was home for extended periods of time.

Fred immediately showed that he cared about Mark and built a relationship with him.

It left an impression on Mark and because of the book and the seminars in which he used stories of this unique individual, Fred has influenced many people.  Its left an impression on me and has opened me to look at how I can be a Fred in someone elses life.

The most recent example of a Fred in my own life is a man named Gary.  This past winter my car ran pretty well. I didn't have that many issues with it, outside of the ones that I caused myself,(doh!) but one particular night my car refused to start.  It was the coldest night of the entire winter, my battery was low (the one in the car too) and it was 2am in the morning.  Gary not only braved the cold to help me get it started, he let me borrow his car until the next morning so that I could go about my business.  And that wasn't even the end of it.  The next day after we both had some sleep I picked him up, with his car, and we sought to tend to my stubborn car.

In the end we got the car started but the act of kindness that Gary showed was well worth the frustration I had over my car.

Be a Fred and spread the infectious joy that results from it.

Has anyone ever shown such kindness to you?  If so, feel free to tell the story in the comments below.

Got purpose?

This is a subject that has been on my mind since corresponding with Phil Gerbyshak of MakeItGreat! via email a while back.  I asked him for some advice and he recommended that I spend some time thinking about what my intended purpose is or goals I had for my blog.  What did I want to accomplish with it? This made allot of sense to me because up to this point I didn't have clear goals for my blog or my writing so my posts had a random quality.

Since then Live Your Best Life has been undergoing some redesign in look and direction(still need to design a new banner):

  • Share ideas for improving life and work -- excellence as a lifestyle.
  • To continue to post frequently and provide more value in each post.
  • To be a Fred.
  • To get to know my readers and grow in that relationship; fostering a sense of community.
  • The one thing everybody wants -- More Traffic.
  • Design a new banner -- Hop to it already!
  • Be link worthy -- This one pretty much goes hand in hand with providing content that is of value.

Darren Rowse of Problogger has established another "Group Writing Project", and this time I have the chance to take part in it.  This is my contribution but I also hope that it helps to clarify what you can expect to find here at Live Your Best Life.  Comments and suggestions are -always- welcome and I look forward to future friendships and conversations.

Do you have goals for your blog? Feel free to share them in the comments below.

Update:  If you have ideas for a banner/logo feel free to share them as well.
