One of the most valuable points in Ask and It Is Given
by Esther and Jerry Hicks is that you don’t have to make yourself go from feeling awful to feeling “GREAT!” All you need to focus on is feeling a little bit better than you do. This releases some of the pressure. Get Ask and It is Given. The exercises in it are designed to do just that. [via Christine Kane]
Couldn't agree with you more, Christine.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could just change our emotions in an instant. Like a light switch? No, it probably wouldn't. Emotions are meant to be felt and it can be good to feel the pain of loss or sadness BUT you should never dwell in it.
When I feel myself sinking down into a place I don't want to go, I simply find and surround myself with things that will help me feel 'a little bit better'. Put in your favorite music ( positive music is best) or watch a movie you know will make you laugh. In doing so, you will discover you've put yourself on a track towards feeling much better and even feeling GREAT!
Change your perspective, change your mind.
