Mind Gone Wild Or NOT
Recently I wrote and article about 'The Sleeper'. A person who just drifts through life always wanting better but never reaching for it. After getting those thoughts out in written form I started to think about all of the thoughts processed in the mind of a Sleeper.
Here are 20 of the ones I came up with:
- See problems and not opportunities.
- What if it doesn't work?
- Opportunities never come my way.
- When is it my turn?
- Money is hard to obtain.
- I'll just sleep in today - tends to do this every day.
- The world needs more love but I'll be damned if I'm the first to show it.
- Being vulnerable is a weakness.
- Learning is a chore of the past.
- I don't want to work. Let alone go the 'extra mile'.
- It's their fault!
- Nothing goes right for me.
- Never show your weaknesses.
- I don't have any skills.
- I hate change and want no part in it!
- I'm not worthy of being loved.
- I'd much rather remain ignorant. Nothing is expected of me that way.
- I can't do anything right.
- I won't try because I fear failing.
- What if they laugh at me?
There are many many more that can be listed and detailed but these are a good start to recognizing some of the stories that we tell ourselves.
I like this, and I can relate it to a lot of people I know. What would the right mindset and thought phrases be?
