Got purpose?
This is a subject that has been on my mind since corresponding with Phil Gerbyshak of MakeItGreat! via email a while back. I asked him for some advice and he recommended that I spend some time thinking about what my intended purpose is or goals I had for my blog. What did I want to accomplish with it? This made allot of sense to me because up to this point I didn't have clear goals for my blog or my writing so my posts had a random quality.
Since then Live Your Best Life has been undergoing some redesign in look and direction(still need to design a new banner):
- Share ideas for improving life and work -- excellence as a lifestyle.
- To continue to post frequently and provide more value in each post.
- To be a Fred.
- To get to know my readers and grow in that relationship; fostering a sense of community.
- The one thing everybody wants -- More Traffic.
- Design a new banner -- Hop to it already!
- Be link worthy -- This one pretty much goes hand in hand with providing content that is of value.
Darren Rowse of Problogger has established another "Group Writing Project", and this time I have the chance to take part in it. This is my contribution but I also hope that it helps to clarify what you can expect to find here at Live Your Best Life. Comments and suggestions are -always- welcome and I look forward to future friendships and conversations.
Do you have goals for your blog? Feel free to share them in the comments below.
Update: If you have ideas for a banner/logo feel free to share them as well.
Design a new banner -- Hop to it already!
Yeah... hop to it! All ya gotta do is tell that graphical person you know what it is you want :)
You're doing a fantastic job in your path for redesigning. Congrats!

Interesting point of view, but I feel you don't only want to apply those goals to your blog but also to your life in general, don't you ;)
By the way, I am a graphic designer and can help with your logo/banner if you want, just drop me an e-mail or go to my blog and live a message. I can help as much as you want, all I ask is a link back to my blog :)

Thanks Kimson,
You are indeed right. The point of the post was to describe the goals for my blog but the are just as important to apply to life.

I suppose you won't have any problems with having a purpose for you posts. Your blog is very focused on personal development.

Jarkko - Yeah, my intended purpose for my blog had been to talk about health issues and has slowly made a move into the personal growth area. Its still about health in that respect. I suppose that even a blog can grow and change with its author.
